RUFUS is one of the best and easiest way of creating boot-able USB drives (not only USB drives particularly but all external drives like memory cards etc .It also helps format/create drives . It also saves the time of installing by about ~30% (it's great) . It can make the USB boot-able for Operating systems like windows XP/7/8 or UBUNTU etc.
It is super-fast , reliable, and convenient to the users who want to make there external drives boot-able in the easiest of the ways available like all those MS-DOS DISKPART commands which are kind of old-school stuff__ people wants to stay away from that . Tell me what you are using an INTELLIGENT way of making the USB boot-able. And despite of it's small size(take low disk space) it provides everything you need. So here we go.
Requirements:
1.Now All you need is a USB drive ( 4GB+).
2. windows or ubuntu ISO( downloaded or running in DVD/CD-ROM)
3. Working hands and Brain.
Have those things? : yes of-course --> Continue.
Then follow the steps mentioned below you one by one.
1.First of all Click Here. to Download Rufus.
2.Extract the Zip-file downloaded and run ( it does not any require installation ).
3.If the following message comes to you its up to you to say yes or no.
4. Now select your USB drive volume label well mine is shown but your's can be change( depending upon your PC's no of Hard disk partitions)
5. Now go ahead and select the Windows ISO file you wanna load on USB.
6.Select that ISO file, don't change any tick marks settings because there are automatically set to default settings.
7. Select start button shown on screen.
8. A message will come to format the data present in USB ( back-up or save them if you need that data). Click OK on that.
9.Now the process of making drive boot-able will begin.( wait a couple of minute minutes). When completed click close.
~ALL DONE~
10. But before installing windows or ubuntu restart your machine go to BIOS- settings and set the USB-drive as the 1st priority of Boot menu( sequence) mentioned in 1st box . How ?? instruction are mentioned in 2nd box. I have Dell Pc _ BIOS settings other manufacturers can be different but it's not a big deal just go through the BIOS two three times and you'll find the Boot sequence. And at last switch the USB and install the Operating system.
11. Have a cup of tea .Me and you both are tired now. Also if you don't understand anything , without any hesitation you can ask me .
